Talk about a labor of love! This space operated as a formal living room that shared a fireplace with a several year old addition on the other side. The goal for this space was to make it one large great room and expose the beautiful arched windows that were not in view. In order to achieve this, we had to remove two stories of the original outside brick wall as well as the chimney stack. You’ll also notice in the original picture that the back room sat lower than the other, so I had my contractor make them flush. The arched windows were updated to black to pop against the white brick walls. ❤️ #arhaus #arhausfurniture #livingroom #interiores

This gorgeous Butlers Pantry is what dreams are made of! 🤗 The hidden door feature was designed with intension as this room sits down the hallway from the master bedroom and I wanted to avoid it being the first thing they saw. What you don’t see in this video is just around the corner we hid the double oven. I am so excited to share this stunning Kirkwood kitchen transformation! Our vision was light, minimal but to still have enough space for all things kitchen and for an overall better flow. I was able to achieve this look by having a load bearing wall removed that originally closed in the kitchen. This allowed for not only a larger island but also a much more inviting space. The lower cabinets were repurposed by adding new fronts to the original cabinets. This is a great option to cut back on cost. My favorite feature of the kitchen is the appliance starion. This is a excellent way to keep your countertops clutter free! 👏🏻 Lastly, can we talk about the lighting! The evening ambiance creates a relaxing space to enjoy a glass of wine and gather with family & friends.

Choosing to have the kids lounge/play room off the entry way was a decision I thought I would never make! Us Mama’s know how quickly a playroom can look like a tornado touched down and let’s be real, daily clean ups aren’t happening. With that in mind I knew I had to keep it simple, functional, and draw the eyes to an accent wall and less on the chaos. When done right, accent walls can be a powerful design statement in your home. They draw your eye to a particular part of the room, creating the perfect focal point. Plus, they give you a chance to play around with color in a way that you might not want to on all four walls. Don't shy away from using a bold color for your accent wall. In fact, it makes more sense to choose some bright and bold so that it stands out. Isn't that the whole point of an accent wall? If that's a little scary for you, then at the very least, choose a color that's several shades darker than the other walls. This wall was done for right around $150 dollars and the only tool needed was a miter saw. I had planned on nailing the boards in with a nail gun but it malfunctioned so I had to come up with another plan. Surprisingly, these boards were simply glued on by a product that that works so well I could hang from the boards and they wouldn’t budge. Going this route saved so much time bc I avoided having to go patch and sand each nail hole. Directions: 1. Measure wall and draw up design on paper. 2. Paint wall 3. Purchase lumbar needed. Cut appropriately and paint prior to adhering to the wall. (FLEX GLUE is what I used) 4. Touch up any areas needed with paint. 5. One of my goals in helping my clients with designing their dream home is to help nurture their vision and dreams and giving them reassurance when it’s needed.

I’ve always had an appreciation and love for older homes. I’ve spent countless hours driving around STL oohing and ahhing over historical homes. Deciding on whether or not to build new or renovate was a tough choice to make.
